Now, on to today's topic. I follow quite a few blogs, healthy living blogs in particular, and notice some of the blogging "trends" as you could say that sometimes occur. Kinda like the "trends" that show up on Facebook? You know, when everyone starts to do the same sort of status that centralizes around a theme or list of things about themselves, etc. Well, this was a fun questionnaire I noticed going around a few blogs that I read and I thought it was both interesting and a great way for readers to get to know a little bit more about me.
Yes, I did enjoy talking about myself while writing up this post and answering the questions. Yes, that is a bit conceited. And I'm okay with that. Sometimes it's just in human nature to want to talk about yourself for a little bit and be the topic of a conversation. So here we go!
1. Were you named after anyone?
Kinda...My mother's middle name is Kay and her full name is Marilyn so she liked idea of taking her middle name and adding the "lin" at the end so it rhymed with hers. That's what I've been told. I also found out I was almost named Jessica. But I like Kaylin a lot more. It's unique.
2. When was the last time you cried?
When watching Jay Leno say his final farewell on his last episode. Not gonna lie, I teared up.
3. Do you like your handwriting?
Yes, I do!
4. What is your favourite lunch meat?
As long as it's "fresh" lunch meat and not that overly-processed and packaged stuff...give me a turkey sandwich on sourdough with extra mustard.
5. Do you have kids?
Oh, heck no. And the only way I plan on having any in the future is by adoption.
6. If you were another person, would you be friends with you?
I think so! I'm a very loyal person and if you respect me then I'll give you nothing but respect back. Makes for a pretty good friend to have.
7. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
Nah
I do. The doctors haven't taken those from me yet. But I have had a lot of work done in my mouth--braces, a tooth pulled, my wisdom teeth pulled, a skin grafting below my lower front teeth. Needless to say, I definitely take great care of my teeth now because of how much money has been invested in them.
9. Would you bungee jump?
Eh...I suppose. As long as it didn't look like some shady bungee jump business. And I'd prefer to jump over water than dry land.
10 What is your favourite cereal?
Oooh, this is a tough one. For sweeter cereals that take me back to my childhood, I gotta say Froot Loops. But for a healthier cereal that won't give me a sugar spike, I'm a big fan of Wheaties.
Pssh, of course not! Ain't nobody got time for that.
12. Do you think you are strong?
Physically: Yes, but I'm also strenth training and working on it. Emotionally: That could use some work too. I can be strong for others, but then again I can cry at the drop of a dime.
13. What is your favourite ice cream?
Another tough one. I'm breaking the rules and choosing more than one. My favorites are chocolate chip cookie dough, mint chocolate chip, and vanilla.
Their eyes. Eyes are the windows to the soul after all.
15. Red or pink?
Razorback Red (University of Arkansas Razorbacks--my alma mater)
16. What is your least favourite thing about yourself?
That sometimes my mouth gets ahead of my brain and I will "speak before i think". I need to work on that.
17. Any tattoos?
Yes! Just one: a blue rose on my right shoulder blade. I got it when I was 17. And yes, it was approved by my parents, thank you! I didn't know ahead of time necessarily what I wanted to get for a tattoo but once I saw this blue rose while browsing through a tattoo book, it just spoke to me. Then once I got the tattoo and looked up the symbolism of blue roses later it made sense to me. The meaning itself suits me and some of my views on life.
"Blue roses are such a rare sight in nature, so much so it does not exist. A beautiful and perfect blue rose that is searched for by all, but it still remains a dream; a fantasy. Therefore, blue roses symbolize something that is impossible to achieve; something that is unattainable that will only remain a dream that can never be realized.
In love, a blue rose can represent a hope for a love that is impossible or unrequited. In that way, it can also signify a hope for a miracle to happen."

Well, cooking of course! I also love to read, explore nature trails and go on hikes as long as the weather is nice. Can you call learning a hobby? Because I've always loved learning new things.
19. What colour shoes are you wearing?
Not wearing any shoes. Rocking out some warm fuzzy socks.
20. What was the last thing you ate?
French "women don't get fat" toast I made for breakfast. One of my favorite go-to breakfast recipes.
21. What are you listening to right now?
Family Feud is on TV. Confession: I watch way too many game shows when I'm bored. And I've gotten pretty dang skilled at Family Feud.
22. If you were a crayon, what colour would you be?
Tantalizing Teal.
23. Favourite smells?
Anything baking in the oven, fresh wildflowers, the fishy/sea salt smell you get when visiting fish docks by the ocean, and that smoky smell after you blow out a candle.
24. Who was the last person you talked to on the phone?
Probably my boyfriend...let me go check...Yup, it was my boyfriend.
25. Mountain hideaway or beach house?
Mountain hideaway should not even be an option. It's just "Beach house...where?" I can't stand the cold and I love the ocean. If I lived anywhere else other than Northwest Arkansas, I'd move near the ocean.
26. Favourite sport to watch?
Wooooooooo PIG SOOIE! Callin' the Arkansas Razorbacks in a football game! But I really do enjoy watching football in general.
Naturally a light brown, but I just recently jazzed it up with some burgundy red streaks of color! I love how it came out. These pictures aren't the best, but I refused to go out in the sun and stand in the cold wind while trying to take a good picture.
Golden brown near the pupil and green around the edge
29. Do you wear contacts?
Nope
30. Scary movies or happy endings?
Definitely happy endings. Besides, I think the movie industry does a much better job making great movies with happy endings than making great scary movies. I'd say the last really good scary movie that made me afraid to fall asleep at night was The Strangers.
31. Last movie you watched?
My mom and I watched Escape Plan with Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger. It was just okay in my opinion. Arnold sure did look like he's getting up there in age in the movie.
32. What colour shirt are you wearing?
White! It's an Arkansas Student Alumni shirt from college. So many free T-shirts from college...
Summer. I wish winter didn't even exist honestly. And it's snowed so much here this winter and that dang snow has remained on the ground so much that I'm literally starting to dislike the color white. I could even dismiss getting a white wedding dress in the future. That's how much I've come to dislike white.
34. Hugs or kisses?
How about some hugs with chocolate kisses? Dark chocolate kisses
35. Computer or television?
I frequently watch television while on the computer.
36. What book are you reading right now?
It's a memoir by the famous chef, Marcus Samuelsson called "Yes Chef". And I highly, HIGHLY recommend it! It's been a fantastic and riveting read so far. Especially if you're a big foodie like myself, you'll enjoy this book.
Mouse pad? Goodness, I haven't used one of those in years...I think I used to own one with puppies on it though.
38. What colour is your house?
It's kinda a smoky gray color with some white accents on the front.
39. What colour is your car?
Black Saturn Ion with a silver detail along the top on each side. My boyfriend refers to it as the "Kaylin-mobile". But that's the closest I'll ever get to naming my car. I just never got into naming vehicles.
