When I see people drinking some of those nasty energy drinks *cough* Monster, Redbull, etc. *cough* it makes me sad. I honestly want to take the energy drinks from their hands and dump out the artificial contents. You don't need Monsters or Redbulls to get you through your day, nor do you need 20 cups of coffee...
Here are some better options:
Water
Tea
I used to love you oh-so-much. Every morning, I could not go without a visit from you to fill my mug and make my soul happy. But tea is just more my thing now! It's not you, it's me. I just lost interest in you after finally giving my heart to tea.
Sincerely,
Kaylin
While coffee is good for you (in reasonable amounts), I tend to advise people to drink more tea. Mostly because the different kinds of teas can have so many various health benefits--boosting energy is just one of them. And since tea does have a reasonable amount of caffeine as well, you can always try to switch from drinking less coffee and more tea while still getting the caffeine kick.
My personal favorites include honey chamomile (Celestial Seasonings brand) and mixed berry green tea (Lipton brand).
Lean meats
Fish
Farm Fresh Eggs
Try to find farm fresh because not only are they better for you, the environment, and even the chicken you're getting them from, but they also taste FAR better than regular eggs. Trust me, it's like the difference between imitation crab meat vs. Alaskan king crab fresh from the ocean. Which would you rather have?
Skoop Protein Powder
Not only do they have impressive nutritional stats and health benefits, but it's the only protein powder I've found that doesn't have that nasty chalky taste and texture that usually turns me off from most protein-supplemented foods.

Maca Powder
Every tried "nature's viagra"?....This is how maca powder has commonly been known because not only is it a great energy booster, but also a natural libido enhancer as well. Maybe you should add a little maca powder to your next romantic night in. *wink wink*
My favorite ways to add maca powder to my daily diet is in my smoothie bowls and oatmeal or overnight oats. Try my recipe for Banana Pudding Pie Overnight Oats, which includes maca powder!
Lots of Fruits and Veggies
Not only do their beneficial nutrients help our bodies function by giving them plenty of goodies like antioxidants, phytonutrients, polyphenols, etc., but they are also great sources of natural fiber. The reason fiber is important to your diet for energy balance is to help maintain blood sugar levels so the food you are eating will actually stick with you through the day.
A couple of my favorite easy and tasty vegetable side dishes I make on a regular basis are these maple glazed carrots and parsnips and simple roasted brussel sprouts.
Get Moving
Regular exercise will get your metabolism going and running at it's best, it increases your hormone levels that act as mood-boosters AND energy-boosters, and it can increase your brain's productivity levels. Add that to a healthy breakfast before heading off to work and you'll be ready to take on the world.
Try any new foods or drinks lately?....I'm always wanting to hear about new foods!
