A couple of oils I had already used in the past and would most definitely recommend them for certain health issues. But one I hadn't had any experience in using was lavender oil. DON'T use sleeping pills with questionable ingredients. DON'T roll around in bed all night suffering from insomnia. And DON'T use Nyquil just to fall asleep either for goodness' sake...
If you're suffering from insomnia and having trouble falling asleep, you might want to give lavender oil a go. You never know, it might help you too. But don't just think of lavender oil as a sleep aid. This oil has many health benefits!
Various other uses of lavender oil include:
- Aching muscles: add some epsom salt and a few drops of lavender oil to a warm bath and soak to help relieve muscle tension and pain
- Sleep: lavender oil has been shown through studies to help those with insomnia or trouble falling asleep. Place 3-4 drops on your pillow before bed
- Acne: according to dermatologists, lavender oil is one of the best essential oils to use in treatment of acne. Adding a small amount of lavender oil to other ointments and creams used on the face can help with relieving acne.
- Bug repellent: Mosquitos and other bugs are turned off by the potent smell of this essential oil. Dab a bit on exposed areas of the skin before heading outside to use as a natural bug repellent.
